03Operation

Easy operation.

Three controls on the joystick controller: damping, dead spot and pan/tilt direction.

  1. 01

    Damping control

    The damping control knob prevents the head from stopping abruptly with a jerk, giving you smooth endings. The amount of damping is increased by rotating the damping knob clockwise.

    Dead spot control

    The dead spot control determines the centre band of the joystick where no motion will occur, and ensures no crossover to the other axis when not wanted. You can adjust the joystick when it is not centred by rotating this knob clockwise: if you observe the head moving without deflecting the joystick, it will be necessary to adjust the centring. To perform best when reversing the head, the dead spot knob should be at 30 to 40 percent.

    Pan / tilt direction

    You can reverse the panning and tilting direction as and when required by using the switch, and you can also use the damping function at the time of reversal. So the best way to reverse the pan tilt head is by using this reversal switch.

Turn the damping knob clockwise for more damping. It also works when you reverse direction.

If the head moves without touching the joystick, turn the dead spot knob clockwise to re-centre it.

  • Can a BMPCC 6k fit on this pan/tilt head?

    Yes, the Proaim Senior 2-Axis Pan/Tilt Head with 12V Joystick Control accommodates the Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 6K.

  • Does this have LANC support?

    The Proaim Senior Pan-Tilt head does not LANC Support.

  • Is the slowest rotation speed 6 degrees per second or a rotation every 2 min? Official website currently has both.

    The slowest rotation speed is 6° per second, which equals a full 360° rotation in roughly 2 minutes.

  • Can this be mounted on a 75mm half bowl?

    No, this cannot be mounted on a 75mm half bowl.

  • What is the warranty length on all parts of the head?

    The Proaim Senior 2-Axis Pan/Tilt Head with 12V Joystick Control includes a 1-year manufacturer warranty.

  • Could it be controlled by a computer

    The Proaim Pan Tilt Head PT-SR is only controlled by a joystick controller included in it. It will not be controlled by a computer.

  • Can the Sr. Pan Tilt Head be moved by hand if i don't want to use the motor?

    Yes, the Proaim Senior Pan tilt head can be moved with hands but before this you have to disengage the motor gear to avoid any damage to the gears.

  • Hello, is it possible to set the angles from a PC? For example through serial/USB connection. We need to set specific angles along time, computed by a software. Thanks a lot in advance.

    Unfortunately this product cannot be connected by a PC and computed by a Software.
    It can only be connected with the help of the joystick controller.

  • Is it safe to power the Proaim Sr. Pan Tilt Head ( PT-SR) with 14.4 volts v-mount battery?

    We do not recommend a 14.4 Volt V-mount Battery for Proaim Sr. Pan Tilt Head because with 14.4 Volt V-mount Battery the RPM (Rotation Per Minute) specifications will be changed which eventually decreases the life of the Motor.

    We suggest to use 12 Volt capacity battery with this Head.

  • I have an old EZ FX Jib and am wondering if you have any pan and tilt heads that will work with a 100mm ball receptacle??? Most seem unable to fit an EZ FX jib.

    You can mount the Proaim Jr. Pan Tilt or the Proaim Sr. Pan tilt head on EZ FX Jib with the help of a 100mm Half-Ball adapter (BA-100).

Accommodates Large Cameras

Good strong product; handles my Canon XH-A1 with no problem; I am very pleased...I especially like the fact that the plate the camera attaches to adjusts relative to the size of the camera; the XH-A1 is a fairly large camera and this head accommodates it very well.
