The Flycam Placid is a 2-axis Spring Arm that attaches to the end of your Flycam Flowline and assists in getting a Smooth Shot. It stabilizes and smoothens the shots when you are moving or running with the Flowline by eliminating Vibration and Motion Errors. The Flycam Placid pivots around its axis and provides side to side stabilization along with the Vertical Stabilization.

CALIBRATE PRECISELY TO YOUR NEEDS
We designed the Placid System to work perfectly with a varied range of setups. Different elements of the arm, such as the Interchangeable Spring Mechanism and the Easy Adjustment Knob, help you to use the perfect spring and easily adjust its tension to balance the setup. The Placid arm can handle all camera-only or camera & gimbal setups weighing between 5kg/11lbs to 20kg/44lbs.

    Flycam Flowline Placid Two Axis Spring Arm will work perfectly with the Easyrig MiniMax. 
    Drill a hole for mounting the placid arm onto your rig.

  • Does it stabilize handheld camera like canon c100 mark II ?

    This system supports cameras and rigs from 11 to 44 pounds. You could use it with a rig for the C100 Mark II, if it weighs between 11 to 44 pounds. You would need to rig out a C100 Mark II to get to at least 11 pounds for this system.

  • How effective is it in mitigating vertical movement while walking?

    The Placid’s 2-axis spring design greatly reduces vertical bounce and side-to-side movement while walking, delivering much smoother shots.

  • Can this be attached on to a fly cam flowline 400N or does require it a stronger model?

    Certainly, the Flycam Flowline Placid Two Axis Spring Arm (SKU FLCM-FLN-PLA) is designed to be compatible with FLCM-FLN-400N.

  • Can this hold gimbal and dslr?

    We provide 2 springs with this spring arm i.e. 5-12kg and 12-20kg. This flowline placid arm will work with all our flowline models depending on the weight capacity of each model.

  • Will this work with my easyrig model?

    Yes, this will work with your easyrig model. You just need to drill a hole for mounting the placid arm onto your rig.

  • What is the warranty?

    We provide 1 year warranty from the date of purchase. Items which are covered by the warranty period will be replaced at no cost to the customer. Replacement parts of the product will be provided at nominal cost (covering the cost price of the replacement parts only) to the customers after the Warranty Period has expired.

  • Does this come with the Flycam Flowline?

    No, the Flycam FLowline is not included.

  • Can I purchase extra spring of higher strength to change and use heavier camera with it?

    We provide 2 springs with this spring arm i.e. 5-12kg and 12-20kg.

  • Does it come in bag packing?

    No, it does not include a bag. The complete components of this placid arm are packed in a foam packing box for safe storage.

Brilliant tool providing a much more natural movement on an Easyrig

Shooting on Blackmagic URSA Mini Pro 4.6k rigged with matte box, follow focus, large V-mount, lens, shotgun mic onto an Easyrig MiniMax. Installation was easy. Now that is all done everything works great, the different resistance springs are very useful for fine tuning/different camera rig weights. This isn't a steady cam and won't make your shots magically smooth (you'll need a gimbal or steady cam operator for that) but it does make handheld work feel less jittery and a little more natural. I'd compare the end result to having a solid shoulder rig but with much more flexibility for shooting high/low and run and gun. Not to mention having all the weight on your back with the Easyrig meaning you're getting better shots all day. I'm quite tall and found that the line isn't long enough even when fully extended to get shots very low to the ground, so I'll either have to crouch/kneel or dismount the camera from the Easyrig in order to get walking shots on the ground. Then again, if you're under 6ft you might find it more achievable. I'd highly recommend this as an alternative to the much more expensive competitor.
